With undergraduate students and their friends and families, President Amy Gutmann celebrated baccalaureate virtually on Sunday, May 16, with Provost Wendell Pritchett and Chaz Howard, the University’s Chaplain. The online ceremony featured guest speaker Justin McDaniel, the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Endowed Professor of the Humanities, remarks and readings from students, and musical and dance performances from Counterparts, African Rhythms, and the Penn Glee Club. As is tradition, baccalaureate addresses aspects of the moral life and its relation to liberal education through remarks, speeches, song, and readings from sacred texts.

The full baccalaureate ceremony is posted here.
