The University of Pennsylvania's 260th Commencement ceremony took place in Franklin Field and was preceded by student and academic processions through campus. The ceremony featured the conferral of degrees, the awarding of honorary degrees, greetings by University officials, and remarks by the Commencement speaker, Lin-Manuel Miranda, a 2015 MacArthur Foundation Award recipient and the Tony- and Grammy-award winning composer and lyricist of the Broadway show “In the Heights” and of “Hamilton.”
