Consul-General Huang Ping Visits Penn
January 31, 2020
Penn President Amy Gutmann and Vice Provost for Global Initiatives, Zeke Emanuel greeted Ambassador Huang Ping, the Consul-General of the Chinese Consulate in New York. Ambassador Huang was on campus to participate in the annual Penn China Research Symposium, which highlights China-related research from across the University and also featured University Provost Wendell Pritchett and former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense and current Perry World House Distinguished Visiting Fellow Robert Work. This year’s Symposium highlighted several new initiatives supported by the Penn China Research and Engagement Fund related to the future of U.S. – China relations, bioethics, and architecture at Perry World House, our on-campus center for international affairs which routinely hosts policymakers, business leaders, and other distinguished visitors from around the globe. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the Chinese New Year and welcome Ambassador Huang back to Penn.
