Penn President Amy Gutmann and Provost Vincent Price participated in an academic symposium featuring three Penn Integrates Knowledge (PIK) professors at the British Museum, London, on Saturday, January 22, 2011.
Robert Ghrist, the Andrea Mitchell University Professor; Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Science; Department of Mathematics, School of Arts and Sciences, spoke on “Music of the Spheres: the Beauty & Utility of Topology.”
Karen Glanz, the George A. Weiss University Professor; Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, School of Medicine and School of Nursing, spoke on “Obesity and the Built Environment.”
Adrian Raine, the Richard Perry University Professor; Department of Criminology, School of Arts and Sciences; Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, spoke on Seeds of Sin: The Early Biological Causes of and Cures for Crime.”
