Liberty Medal Ceremony 2016

Amy Gutmann, Penn President, honored civil rights leader and American hero U.S. Representative John Lewis with the 28th Annual Liberty Medal at the National Constitution Center.

"Courageously, powerfully, eloquently, John Lewis challenged our nation to overcome racial bigotry and discrimination, to achieve true freedom, to complete the revolution of 1776," said Dr. Gutmann, who is a trustee of the NCC.
