Today marks an historic moment for Penn Medicine and the Philadelphia region, as we officially cut the ribbon on The Pavilion at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  Born of the collective vision of physicians, nurses and care teams, patients, innovative engineers, and world-class architects and artists, this LEED Gold-certified building features more than 500 private patient rooms; 1.6 million square feet of treatment space that includes doubled emergency room capacity; and surgical suites designed to always be at the leading edge.  The Pavilion now stands as one of the most state-of-the-art patient care facilities in the world, ushering in a new model of care and healing — a beacon of hope for all to see.
