President Gutmann and Chairman Cohen Present at Governor Rendell’s Class

Amy Gutmann, Penn President, joined David L. Cohen at Governor Rendell’s class, “The Science of Politics: Who Gets Elected and Why?” on Monday, November 25, in Cohen Hall. The class is cross-listed between Urban Studies, Political Science and the Fels Institute of Government. President Gutmann and Chairman Cohen were asked to present under the theme, “Campaigning & Governing: Do Campaigns Make Bipartisan Governing Impossible?” The presenters and the students discussed the themes articulated in President Gutmann’s most recent book, The Spirit of Compromise: Why Governing Demands it and Campaigning Undermines It.
