Penn President Amy Gutmann hosted the Celebrating Penn’s Named Scholarship Program virtual event on Wednesday, October 28 for the University’s supporters of undergraduate financial aid. Dr. Gutmann spoke about Penn’s unwavering commitment to supporting students during the pandemic, and especially those students who receive financial aid. In response to COVID-19, the University increased its financial aid budget for this year to a record $282 million. As a part of the virtual celebration, two Penn seniors, Chaim, ENG’21 and Toni-Ann, ENG’21, shared their powerful journeys to Penn and the resources and opportunities that have been afforded to them. The evening ended with an uplifting and virtual rendition of the Red and Blue by the University’s Glee Club.
